I'm Trying!

Pin It One of the skills I wanted to learn this year was to knit my own socks. How cool would it be to make all your own socks so you never had to buy any every again?!

Learning to knit with double pointed needles has been a challenge for me but I finally got the hang of it and am progressing quite nicely with the pattern I chose. Although it takes me about 15 minutes to make one round, I am learning!

What new skills have you been working on lately? I love learning from other people.

  1. I'm still just working on figuring out my sewing machine. We're at a standstill, as the bobbin thread ran out, and we can't figure out how to get it back in, now that we've rethreaded! I need to find a pictorial step-by-step online! :) After we get that straightened out, we should be good! :)

  2. You are doing well Debbie you could also try knitting them on circular needles I have found that so much better. Love knitting especially in winter ;0)

  3. My daughter loves to knit socks. I have tried knitting socks and after starting over seven times, I finally threw the "things" (double-ended needles) on the floor. The needles are so small and my fingers are too stiff from arthritis to use those needles, but I do so love the sock yarns!!! Good luck and can't wait to see the finished socks.

  5. I have been knitting forever but can't get excited enough to knit socks. There is to many other thing I would rather make. Try knitting them on a circlular neele as Debbie suggests.
